There’s a Light at the End of This Tunnel…

Standard

I love the Christian Band Third Day.  Mac Powell’s baritone voice is like cream gravy.  Anyway, I keep hearing their song Tunnel on the radio and my iTouch.  I’m of the strong opinion that God speaks in mysterious ways even through radio programming and MP3 player shuffle.  I just keep hearing this song!  I have adopted it as my theme song, because I have most definitely been through a tunnel in the last several years, and most recently in the last several months.  I am beginning to see the light at the end…I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older and wiser or if it’s because I am actually seeing the end of the tunnel.   Things are still far from easy, but some situations that have been going on are resolving themselves, and some joyful things are happening.  Here are the lyrics to tunnel.  I love optimistic songs, because as a pessimistic person they offer me a balancing point of view:

I won’t pretend to know what you’re thinking
I can’t begin to know what you’re going through
I won’t deny the pain that you’re feeling
But I’m gonna try and give a little hope to you

Just remember what I’ve told you
There’s so much you’re living for

There’s a light at the end of this tunnel
There’s a light at the end of this tunnel
For you, for you
There’s a light at the end of this tunnel
Shinin’ bright at the end of this tunnel
For you, for you
So keep holdin’ on

You’ve got your disappointments and sorrows
You ought to share the weight of that load with me
Then you will find that the light of tomorrow
Brings a new life for your eyes to see

So remember what I’ve told you
There’s so much you’re living for
